[100 Emerging Women Leaders] Meet Kanika Tekriwal, who is taking the aviation industry by storm

Kanika tekriwal always says what she thinks. She says it helped her survive in an otherwise male-dominated industry.

“At the age of 17, I was working in one of the toughest industries, and private jets were scarce. It’s an industry that has evolved, grown, shrunk and grown again, ”Kanika said. His history.

Kanika had worked in the aviation industry for almost eight years. She founded Delhi-NCR-based start-up JetSetGo in 2014 at the age of 22, after realizing there was a need for a professional charter service that offered transparent fares and operations.

When she realized that the private sector charter industry was filled with brokers and operators – causing a lot of frustration – Kanika decided to change it.

She adds that anyone wishing to use a private jet should contact a broker or private operator, who would recommend jets or helicopters, which would give them maximum commission, regardless of the customer’s requirements.

“Due to the lack of transparency and the unavailability of charter planes, customers pay astronomical sums. Likewise, if the customer contacts an operator, he will launch an aircraft operated only by that operator, ”explains Kanika.

After working almost 20 months behind the scenes, Kanika launched JetSet go for the rental of private jets and helicopters. The aircraft aggregator operates, manages and pilots aircraft for owners.

“The idea has been going through my head for almost three years, but when I pulled out my sketch board and started working on it, I was diagnosed with cancer, which put me back a year. . Fortunately for me, no one else in the country had done something similar until I finished the treatment or until now, ”says Kanika.

JetSetGo is now a pioneer of air taxis with intra-city connectivity in India using electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).

The startup uses a mix of technologies, unique maintenance procedures and SMART management, all developed by the proprietary properties of JetSetGo. This, in turn, helps reduce maintenance costs, increases airtime, decreases ground time, thus ensuring profitability.

In fact, it also drastically reduces the cost of chartered planes, making them more easily and frequently accessible to travelers.

With “SMART” management technique, maintenance prevention and prediction technologies, the startup offers safety and on-time arrival like never before.

Kanika plans to harness the third dimension – the sky – to its full potential, and make charter air the future of transportation for Indians who value time and convenience.

“We are seeking to democratize air transport,” adds Kanika.
