Apprentice star launches clothing line in Sutton Asda

A fashion designer who won the Apprentice in 2018 has launched her own loungewear – and they’re available at an Asda in Sutton.

Fashion designer, BBC star and businesswoman Sian Gabbidon started her fashion business designing swimwear.

It wasn’t until the national lockdown, when Sian, 29, decided to take the swimsuit idea out of the way and replace it with stylish loungewear.

Her clothing line, Sian Marie, is on sale at all Asda stores across the UK – one of the biggest outlets selling her styles in the Sutton Superstore.

Sian told Your Local Guardian: “I have made it clear that I want to stay in my hometown, Leeds, but I am working with professionals across the UK.

“The foundations of the business were huge, we opened up our clothing to wholesale and branched out into retailers such as Asda, ASOS, House of Fraser and more.

“More recently, we entered the loungewear business.

Sian’s fashion brand offers chic and durable loungewear styles suitable for all ages and keen to make customers feel “confident and empowered.”

Sian added, “We have comfy tracksuit sets, oversized hoodies, fleece jackets, vests and more, all in eternal fall colors.

“Our prices range from £ 22 to £ 40, with colors including blacks, nudes, sands and grays.

“Size starts from XS to XL – but many of our pieces have an oversized finish so can fit larger sizes.”

Sian told Your Local Guardian that “the pandemic was very difficult” but because of her “hands-on” work ethic, she was able to “plan and adapt.”

Sian explained, “COVID has been our biggest challenge so far.

“Such an unexpected and scary situation as a small business owner to find myself in.

“But luckily, because I’m so involved and involved in day-to-day racing, I was able to plan and adapt. ”

Sian’s shift in business from swimwear to loungewear was due to people being “stuck at home” during the pandemic.

She added: “During COVID, the company and I had to adapt and change direction because it was a very difficult time for swimwear.

“Everyone was stuck at home and needed comfortable, casual outfits, so that’s what gave me the idea. ”

In 2018, Sian starred on the BBC’s show The Apprentice, where she and 15 other contestants competed for Lord Alan Sugar to invest in their business idea.

She was then crowned the winner of the show.

Sian said, “Being on the Apprentice was a lot more difficult than I expected.

“Early in the morning, late at night, it was very exhausting and difficult, but also very rewarding.

“You really learn a lot about yourself in the process too. ”

Sian said she and Alan Sugar still keep in regular contact.

She added, “We always speak regularly on the phone or on zoom calls to discuss what’s going on in the business.”

Sian and his clothing company have “a lot to look forward to” next year.

She explained, “We have a lot of things to come in the New Year.

“Our SS22 range is in production and we are now ready to photograph the range and work on the full marketing campaign around next year’s launch.

“While also being in conversation with many new retailers about stocking our brand. ”
