Austin-based Kendra Scott launches dazzling new Disney World store

After a big win, you might hear a sports champion proclaim, “I’m going to Disney World!” as part of a Disney TV advertising campaign. Now Austin jewelry entrepreneur Kendra Scott can legitimately say the same thing.

Next spring, Austin-based brand Kendra Scott – a supplier of jewelry and other fashion accessories – will open a store in Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Disney Springs is a retail, food and entertainment hub.

The 1,650-square-foot Disney Springs store will honor the Kendra Scott brand’s work with Inheritance of Hope, a non-profit organization that brings hope to young families facing the loss of a parent due to a terminal illness. For the past five years, the brand has partnered with Inheritance of Hope to host an all-expense-paid weekend retreat at Walt Disney World Resort for families facing a parent’s diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer. To date, over 70 families have participated in these retreats.

“As well as being an integral addition to our brand footprint, I am delighted to open this location in Disney Springs to celebrate a philanthropic program that is so dear to our hearts,” said Tom Nolan, CEO of Kendra Scott , in a press release. Release.

Scott stepped down as CEO in February and named Nolan as his successor. She remains executive president of the company. Nolan previously held the titles of President, Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of the company.

The brand, which employs more than 2,000 people, operates more than 100 stand-alone stores in the United States, including three in Austin.

Forbes reported earlier this year that the company’s annual sales are $ 360 million. The company, which Scott started in 2002, is valued at over $ 1 billion.
