How fans are handling the high ticket prices for the Chiefs vs Bills game
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Right now, it costs several hundred dollars just to get into Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday.
Many Chiefs fans are willing to shell out the extra cash to watch Patrick Mahomes in action. Others are OK with the view from the couch.
To sit in Arrowhead’s seats, even the upper deck, you’ll shell out a pretty penny. Tickets for the Chiefs are a rare commodity these days.
The Chiefs will face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
“For us, it was the biggest traffic we’ve seen was this game,” said Jason Durbin, vice president of ticketing operations for Tickets For Less.
Durbin said there has been higher demand for this game and they have seen similar pricing in the playoffs. Probably because of the game – no one wants to miss it.
Magic Mahomes in the final 13 seconds of the final game against the Bills might have something to do with it.
“It looks like another collision course for the playoffs,” Durbin said. “It’s definitely the most expensive game of the year right now.”
Here’s an overview of ticket prices if you’re buying for two people to get into the game.
On Tickets For Less, you’ll pay just under $300 per ticket.
Vivid Seats offers tickets for nearly $280. Seat Geek and Ticket Master sell tickets for around $250.
Keep in mind that on some sites the tickets seem to be cheaper at first and then they hit you with an extra $30-$40 at the end.
“I think it’s going to be a great game, so every dollar spent on ticket prices will be worth it,” Chiefs fan Joel Foremanek said.
“I would, but I don’t really pay, [my mom] done,” River Freeman said.
Freeman’s mother, Julie Kasunic, and other Chiefs fans have agreed to watch the game from the couch.
“I just prefer to watch it at home,” Kasunic said.
“I’m glad some people want to pay it, but you can’t do it to me,” Chiefs fan Ed McCoy “I better watch it on TV.”
No matter where people cheer for the Chiefs, we know one thing is for sure, the love we have for this team is priceless.
“I love Chiefs,” said Young Chiefs fan Luca Pennewell. “I was born here. It’s my favorite football team.
In the meantime, Durbin knows there are people who like to enjoy a good thing. As the Chiefs soar and prices go higher, watch out for scammers.
“If you see a deal that might sound too good to be true, it probably is,” Durbin said. “Just be very careful. Make sure you are using mobile tickets and that they are placed in your Chiefs account.
