In a few hours, Jacques Paul will fight his old enemy, Tyron Woodley, for the second time.

All thanks to an unfortunate injury. The initial opponent of Paul Tommy Fury, the half-brother of the reigning heavyweight king Tyson Fury, said he was withdrawing from the scheduled fight due to complications from a broken rib, and hopes to postpone their fight to 2022. And Paul said he will fight a revenge with Tyron Woodley instead of fighting Fury.

When is Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley?

The main card begins at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT) on December 18 in Tampa, Florida at the Amalie Arena.

Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Boxer Belt

Combat sports have had strange “belts” in the past. You might remember Floyd Mayweather made a “silver” belt for Conor McGregor’s fight, and Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal fought for the UFC’s Baddest Motherfucker belt.

But Jake Paul’s new belt could well surpass them.

During the last Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley press conference, Paul revealed this new belt, which is apparently worth $ 500,000. He also mentioned some disturbing symptoms of his new boxing career, claiming he suffered from memory loss and slurred speech.

You can watch the full press conference below.

Tommy Fury’s injury

Fury promoter Frank Warren posted a thread on Monday announcing the change.

“I am absolutely heartbroken that I was forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial infection in my chest and a broken rib,” Fury said in one of the tweets. “I can’t express how disappointed I am and I really hope we can postpone this fight until the New Years, I want this fight to always happen more than anything.”

Tyron Woodley as a replacement

But it didn’t take long for Paul to find a new opponent. On Monday, he tweeted that he would still fight on December 18, but instead of Tommy Fury, he is fighting Tyron Woodley.

“When my team woke me up on Friday to tell me Tommy was stepping down, I told them I’m ready to fight anyone on December 18,” Paul said in a press release. “Troy, Trey, Trevor, Travis. I don’t care who it is.

Paul fought Woodley, a mixed martial artist, in August, defeat him in a split-decision fight. You may remember Paul’s light-up trunks, or Woodley’s trunks announcing “Dude Wipes”. Or maybe you remember how Paul told Woodley that he would give him revenge if Woodley got a “I love Jake Paul” tattoo. What he did – inside of a finger, where hardly anyone can see it.

“First time I sent [Woodley]”Paul said in a press release.” This time I am going to punish him and leave no doubt. “

Combat conditions

Jake Paul likes to make weird bets, like Tyron Woodley getting a “I love Jake Paul” tattoo after losing. If he had fought Fury, he sought to get him to change his name to “Tommy Fumbles” for a year. But the bet was never finalized or accepted, at least to our knowledge. And now that’s kind of a moot point until the fight is rescheduled – if that happens.

Fury’s fight would have been the first time Paul fought someone closer to his natural height and weight, as well as the first time he fought someone with similar boxing experience. Fury’s record is 7-0, with four knockouts to his name. Jake Paul is 4-0.
