A positive sex collection rooted in being your real self.

K.NGSLEY is about to launch its very first jewelry collection. The brand, from Brooklyn-based designer Kingsley Gbadegesin, aims to “reclaim the Black, Queer, Female body” and directly support the communities he believes have given him so much.

Born out of activism and club scenes, K.INGSLEY has been guided by a clear goal since its inception: to make a fashion statement – and also a political one. In an interview with V last October, the activist and designer shared his vision for creating pieces that make people, especially women and trans women of color, feel more comfortable in their own right. skin. Not only that, but to make room for their personal expression and ignite the confidence they already have in them.

The 701 collection is inspired and developed on these same ideals. By transferring his designs from the field of tank tops (mainly) to the world of jewelry, Gbadegesin is able to share both his creativity and his vision in a new form.

By crafting an assortment of sex positive jewelry, Gbadegesin is once again rooting the pieces with the idea of being your unique self. As an ode to the return to assembly and post-Covid promiscuity, the collection also recognizes the risk of HIV / AIDS and the lower levels of access to pre-exposure prophylaxis, PrEP, especially for black women. and brunettes. Yes, even in 2021.

The shades of silver, gold and baby blue give this collection a feeling of lightness and freshness, while infusing them with modernity and fantasy.

Gbadegesin’s vision is to live your truth, but at the same time to show yourself and be safe. This is why the designer hopes that the 701 collection can serve as a means of identifying and bringing together members of the community.
