Virgin Voyages crew clothing by Design Collective heads to Miami
CHICAGO–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Are you ready for a sea of vitamins? Scarlet Lady, the first ship of Richard Branson’s new cruise line, Virgin Voyages, is finally set to return home to Miami in October. Collective Design ™ by Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) created a collection of modern clothing from British fashion designer Gareth Pugh for the Scarlet Lady Crew. Virgin Voyages has collaborated with Design Collective by Cintas to bring Gareth’s avant-garde designs to life with garments that reflect a liveliness synonymous with the Virgin brand.
“We have used our extensive design and manufacturing experience for the cruise industry – and have worked closely with Gareth Pugh and the team at Virgin Voyages – to develop this modern and luxurious collection that reflects this unique brand experience. Said Todd McKeown, President and COO of Design Collective by Cintas. “Employee engagement has never been more important and it is essential that each crew member feel confident and comfortable in their clothing so that they can be a key part of the total experience of the boat. passenger. We’re honored to be working hand-in-hand with Gareth and Virgin Voyages on this collection, and we’re excited to be a part of this new launch as the cruise industry begins to return.
The Core Collection includes durable fabrics and apparel designed for a range of work functions, climates and body types. The program breaks with cruising stereotypes by removing epaulettes (shoulder bands designating the rank of officers), ties and vests. Instead, it showcases a distinct combination of structure and flow and includes a wide range of looks from the slick, sharp cut to relaxed, pillowcase tunic shirts referencing the early days of British punk and more.
“We really wanted to shake up the industry and redefine the cruising fashion. Working with fashion designer Gareth Pugh has helped us create a fantastic wardrobe collection for our crew that reflects a modern sailing vacation experience that so many sailors crave right now, ”said Dee Cooper, SVP Design and customer experience at Virgin Voyages. “We decided to partner up with Design Collective by Cintas to make sure the clothes would be up to all standards. Their knowledge of the fabrics and the application made the designs functional for the cruising environment, and they helped create an epic change for all. ”
